What is your ethos?
There are many ways I would describe myself, starting with compassion, desire to help others, and bringing people together. Family and having a community are held high for me and it has been a goal to be able to curate that and bring other people into it. It's really about caring and taking care of people and the desire to pass it on.

Why did you choose Finish Line?
When I relocated back to Bakersfield from living in San Diego, I knew I wanted to continue my career in the cycling industry. After reviewing my options, I chose Finish Line because it lives up to the family and community vibe I was searching for. Christian has curated something that our Bakersfield cycling community has been missing and I wanted to be part of that.

How did you get started in the cycling world?
I first got started in the cycling world at a young age as my father and grandfather were both avid cyclists. Being introduced to the Tour de France by my dad at a young age, motivated me to get on a bike. Once I got my feet on pedals it was over for me as it consumed my free time, which grew my affinity for the sport.

How does cycling make you feel?
Cycling makes me feel at peace. It is something that has always given me the freedom I desire. The feeling of connection being on a bike will never fade for me and always continues to grow and evolve.

What’s your favorite bike?
I would determine my current bike, a Mecidi Pro-Strada, which is a custom build from the mid-'80s is my favorite bicycle. This bike holds a very special part in my heart as it was handed down to me after my best friend passed away.

Where is your favorite place to ride?
My favorite place to ride is on San Diego's trails. One of those trails is called Anderson Truck Trail; a beautiful out-and-back trail, which when timed just right, you will ride through and above the clouds with a clear view over a lake.

What is some advice you would give to someone who just started cycling?
My advice to a new cyclist would be to just have fun and enjoy getting on two wheels.

How has cycling changed your life?
It has changed my life in many ways, but it has been a healthy outlet through some hard times. It has also brought many good friends into my life.
