Christian - I don't like labels

What is your ethos?
I'd like to challenge the status quo and disrupt the norms around what it means to build a purpose-driven work culture. People flourish in a meaningful, authentic, and vulnerable environment. Adulting is hard and life today is complicated, and I believe the bike is a way to refocus (not to sweep under the rug), which enables you to be intentional in making a positive impact.

How did you get started in the cycling world?
Like any child, bikes were a way to meet friends and it allowed you to see the rest of the world (your block, lol). I visited my first bike shop at 10 years old in Huntington Beach and was hooked. Used cycling to train while competing in martial arts, then transitioned to triathlons, Ironmans, and long-distance road races.

How does cycling make you feel?
As an introverted person, cycling allows me to fully express my inner self. I love the first few minutes (before the imminent pain), because it puts things in perspective and serves as a reminder that I am a very, very, VERY lucky dude.

What’s your favorite/current bike?
I currently ride a Wilier Filante SLR Dura-Ace 12-speed Di2. I slapped on Cadex 65-wheel set and full CeramicSpeed components. I'm like a kid in a candy store - I don't have a favorite because I wanna ride all the bikes.

Where is your favorite place to ride?
One of the most beautiful places I've ridden is St. George, UT. The clean roads, amazingly colorful rocks, and bright blue skies make it a favorite for me. Runner-ups are Kona, Hawaii, and Lake Tahoe.

What is some advice you would give to someone who just started cycling?
Find yourself in a supportive, kind, and fun group. Wear a helmet and padded shorts. Don't worry if your bike isn't the fanciest in the group ride - love your bike. Lastly, don't ever feel embarrassed to ask your bike tech questions. We've all started our journey in the exact same place.

How has cycling changed your life?
With the support of my husband, I am able to live one of my dreams dating back to 10 years old when I visited my first bike shop. Cycling has taken us to so many places, met amazing people, and brought out family closer.
